A beautiful day. The men folks staid at the barns most of the day.

Paul carried his mother home this morning. Josie staid at home and got dinner then went to Reynolds. Marvin carried Josie and Edna and Franklin Carrie and four of their children. I spent the day there. Posie and Nannie and baby was there. Julia and baby. We had a pleasant day. They had plenty of water mellons. Ben will have to stay at the barns to night.

A good day cool and windy. Ben went to Chatham this morning. Come home and hauled a load of wood.

Mr Owen went to the mill at White Falls did not get his grinding.

Posie Johnson has bin sick heard this evening that Posie Reynolds is sick.

Paul Josie and I stripped tobacco most of the day.

I finished digging the sweet potatoes and Paul hauled them home on the wheel barrow. Chesley Edmons come by here this evening to tell us good by he has got to go to training camp Monday.

A good day. Jim & Owen cut wood this morning. Hauled some hay this evening. Ben is in Richmond I guess. Hope he may have a good time. Josie is still bad off with colde.

Jim went to the store to night.

Posie Reynolds brought Nellie from Chatham this evening. She got here just after dark.

Odie Kellie come today and got a box to send some chickens to market.

I finished knitting Ella Hubards cap to night.

Jim has just come home.

A cool windy day the men folks put on the canvas for their plant beds this morning and cut & mauled this evening.

Kate Harvey come a few minutes to day. She eat dinner with us. She brought me some homony. I went with her part the way home. I carried Edna & Franklin to Marvins and Carrie looked after them while I went to Posie Reynolds and got some turnip salit.

We heard to day that Tom Lumpkins and Tom Johnson was dead, one of them at Danville and one at New Port News. Johnson Reynolds went to Danville to be at Lumpkins burial.

Jim got a letter from Nellie telling him that Mr Walker is very sick.

Jim & Ben walked over to the store at Renan to night. Mr Lewis was not there so they come home soon and went to bed.

I finished pickin the 1919 crop of cotton to night.

A colde day. There was ice plentiful this morning. Ben cleaned up the branch. Jim plowed until dinner then Mr. Owen plowed until night.

Josie went to Marvins and got salit for dinner. She got dinner. I went to Mr Owens and bathed the little baby this evening. I went to Mollies, and got salit from Posies garden. Mrs Hutcherson was there. She had bin to the store. Dr Owens baby is very sick. I hope she may soon be well. Posie Reynolds come down here this evening and got cickamore bushes to plant. I heard to day a bout Cliftons boy. Jim & Ben has gone to night to Renan to get some cottens[coulters?] to work with tomorrow. Hope they will soon be back.
