Ordered that the matter of a sewerage systen be refferred to the Comtee on Health & Police with instructions to report thereon at the next regular meeting Committee Reports Received From Gas Lights recommending the denial of the petition of M S Booth et al for a lamp post corner of Jefferson & 5th Streets Adopted petition denied And now the Council proceeds to open & consider all bids rec'd for Gas Work & furnishing lamp posts which bids are from the Washington Iron Works, John Spencer, Waddell & Miles, and J Schram & Co. Thereupon said bids are referred to the Gas Light Committee Ordinance Received From the Judiciary & Legislative submittins an Ordinance entitled "To provide for the purchase of a Hose Carriage and Hose" After the consideration said ordinance is adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Gasch, McDonald, Manning Rasin, Against adoption, none. From the Judiciary & Legislative submitting an Ordinance entitles "To provide for a sidewalk on Seneca Street. After due consideration said Ordinance is adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption; Collins, Gasch, McDonald, Manning & Rasin Against adoption none Applications for Licenses Received From Smith & Fanar for a Retail Liquor & 1 Billiard Table granted Ordered that the Committee on Fire & Water supply be and they are hereby authorized to fill any vacancy that may occur in the Office of Steward of the Engine House until the next regular meeting of the Council. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Monday Nov 20, 1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock PM for the purpose of opening bids for Jackson Street Improvements under the Ord No 325 & to receive the report of the Fire Comtee Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved John Collins, acting mayor

From Licenses and Revenue recomending the granting of the petition of F.X. Prefontaine et al for remitting moneys paid for a concert license. Adopted. From Licenses and Revenue recommending granting of the petition of Geo C. Thompson for using Beer's Concert license. Adopted. Claims Paid The following claims having been duly audited by the Council are ordered paid by Warrants drawn on the funds and in the accounts following, towit: City Fund F. X. Prefontaine License submitted No. 249 $5.00 Road Fund J. L. Kahaley hauling lumber No. 111 $1.00 Fire Fund The Gutta Percha and Rubber Mfg Co Hose No. 105 $579.50 Ordinances Received From the City Atty extending the time to complete contract on grading Front, Union, 2d and 3rd Streets. Adopted on the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Manning. Against adoption, none. From the City Atty submitting an ordinance entitled "To provide for the levying and collecting of a special tax for the purpose of raising funds to pay for the construction of a sidewalk on Pine and Ninth Streets under Ordinance No. 281." Adopted on the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Manning. Against adoption none. From the City Attorney submitting an ordinance entitled "To provide for the levying and collecting of a special tax for the purpose of raising funds to pay for the construction of a sidewalk on Stewart, Tenth and Virginia Streets under Ordinance No. 284. Adopted on the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Manning. Against adoption none.

Ordered that the City Attorney submit proper ordinances for the grading and planking of the following streets or portions thereof, to wit: Planking Commercial from the south side of Mill to the north line of King Planking Jackson from the alley west of Commercial to Commercial Planking Main from the alley west of Commercial to Commercial Planking Mill from present planking east to east side of Front Grading South 2d from north side of Main to the Wharf Planking South 2d from north side of Main to Wharf Grading Main from Commercial to 2d Planking Main from Commercial to 2d Grading Jackson from Commercial to 2d Planking Jackson from Commercial to 2d Grading Front from Mill to Madison Planking Front from Mill to Madison The vote on said order is as follows, to wit: In favor of said order Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Manning. After due consideration said Ordinance is adopted upon the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Manning. Against adoption none. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Tuesday December 19 1882. Attest: E S Osborne Clerk Approved John Collins Acting Mayor Dec 19/82 Be it remembered that on this the 19th day of December 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present, His Honor Acting Mayor Councilman John Collins and Councilmen O. F. Cosper, Fred Gasch,Chas F. McDonald and G. L. Manning. Thereupon the following proceedings are had Petitions Received From Pumphrey and Lowman et al for a standing place for teams. Referred to the City Attorney. Committees Reports Received From Fire and Water Supply approving the estimate of the Surveyor for a brick cistern corner 3rd and Marion Streets. Laid over. From Fire and Water Supply recommending an additional section to the proposed amendment to Ordinance No. 278 reserving the right to the City to purchase certain water works. Adopted and referred to the City Attorney to make such amendment and fixing the date of such purchase after 10 years. From Gas Lights submitting a plan for a gas lamp post. Referred to Gas Comtee. for a new contract and bond to be executed by Washington Iron Works for such post as former rates of compensation.
