The Attorney submits an Ordinance entitled "To provide for the sale of certain Real Estate owned by the City of Seattle and authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to execute a conveyance therefor"; thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald & Rasin. Against adoption none. Bids Received And now the Council proceeds to open the bids for certain repairs to the Engine House on South 3rd Street which bids are as follows, to wit: Ranke & Lohse $615.00 C H Metcalf 595.00 Referred to the Comtee on Public Buildings, Property & Grounds Special Orders of the Day And now in pursuance to the notices duly published the Council proceeds to the examination and equalization of the following Assessment Rolls, to wit: For the Improvement of the Alley through Blocks A, B, C, D & E of Denny's Plat under Ordinance No 384; for the Improvement of Main Street under Ordinance No 385; for the Improvement of Columbia Street under Ordinance No 386; for the Improvement of James Street under Ordinance No 387; for the Improvement of 8th Street under Ordinance No 388; all filed June 22, 1883. For the Improvement of cherrym 4th, 5th,6th, 7th, 8th, 9th,10th, 11th, & 12th Streets under Ordinance No 395, all Filed June 22, 1883 & for the Improvement of Pike Street under Ordinance no 400 & filed June 22, 1883. Thereupon the further consideration

For the Improvement of Cherry, Ninth and Twelfth Streets under Ordinance No. 395 all Filed June 22, 1883. For the Improvement of Pike Street under Ordinance No. 400. Filed June 22, 1883. Thereupon no complaints being presented with reference to any assessment of said rolls and the Council after due examination finding the same correct in every particular. It is ordered that the said assessment rolls be and they are hereby approved. And now it appearing to the Council that no appointments of Appraisers have been filed on behalf of the owners of property benefitted and condemned by the Extension of Jackson Street under Ordinance No. 396 the Council proceeds to appoint such appraisers; thereupon Robert Abrams and R. H. Calligan are appointed such appraisers. And now His Honor the Mayor appoints - Griffith Davies as the Third appraiser to assess damages and benefits under said Ordinance No. 396. Ordinances Received An Ordinance is submitted entitled "To prohibit the suspension of signs and transparencies over the sidewalks" thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, towit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Rasin. Against adoption none. The Attorney submits an ordinance entitled "To provide for lighting the street of the City of Seattle, and fixing the limits within which property shall be subject to a special tax for gas light." Thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, towit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Rasin. Against adoption none. Thereupon the same is approved and returned by the Mayor. The Attorney submits an ordinance entitled "To amend Ordinance No. 405 and to assess and levy taxes for general and special

Thereupon after due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, towit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald and Rasin. Against adoption none. Miscellaneous Ordered that the Street Commissioner be & he is hereby instructed to fill in with earth the tank corner 3rd and Washington Streets. And now the Street Committee make their report awarding the contract for the Improvement of Fourth Street under Ordinance No. 395 as amended by Ordinance No. 408 to Murphy and Stewart on their bid. Thereupon the Council finding their bid to be the lowest bid & the said Murphy & Stewart to be the lowest responsible bidders. It is ordered that the contract be awarded to them upon their executing a good and sufficient bond in the sum of $3000.00 with sureties to be approved. And now the Street Committee make their report awarding the contract for the Improvement of Ninth Street under Ordinance No. 395 to Murphy and Stewart on their bid. Thereupon the Council finding their bid to be the lowest responsible bidders. It is ordered that the contract be awarded to them upon their executing a good and sufficent bond in the sum of $3000.00 with sureties to be approved And now the Street Committee make their report awarding the contract for the Improvement of Cherry Street under Ordinance No. 395 to Keenen and Cummings on their bid. Thereupon the Council finding their bid to be the lowest bid and the said Keenen and Cummings to be the lowest reponsible bidders. It is ordered that the contract be awarded to them upon their executing a bond with good and sufficient sureties in the sum of $4000.00. And now the Street Committee make their report awarding the contract for the grading on South 3rd Street under Ordinance No. 399 to Keenen and Cummings on their bid. Thereupon the Council finding their bid to be the lowest responsible bid and said Keenen and Cummings to be the lowest responsible bidders. It is ordered that the contract be awarded.
