183 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Dec 8/82 be and are hereby granted until next meeting in which to report on the petition of A.S. Pinkham. Applications for Licenses From Aug. Le Ballister & Co. for retail liquors. Granted. Ordered that the Legislative and Judiciary Committee be and they are hereby instructed to submit at next meeting an Ordinance in reference to assessment levy and their collection of taxes. Ordered that the City Surveyor be and he is hereby instructed to submit at next meeting plans and specifications for a cistern at the corner of Marion and 3rd Streets said estimates to show the cost of wood and brick cisterns. Ordered that the City Surveyor be and he is hereby instructed to submit at next meeting plans, specifications and estimates for the planking of Commercial, South 2d, Jackson, Main, Washington, Mill and Front Streets. Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Friday December 15 1882. 196 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Jan. 5/83 to said Treasurer commanding him to proceed and forthwith to collect the delinquent taxes upon said roll in the manner provided by law and pay the same to the Treasurer of the City of Seattle less his fees & costs of collection, and return the Warrant with his doings thereon, and the receipt of the City Treasurer for all money's collected there by paid to the City Treasurer to the Clerk. Ordered that the Gas Committee be & they are hereby instructed to place a kerosene lamp corner 5th and Jefferson Streets.
