Pursuant to the law published notice The Council now porceeds to examine and equalize the assessment Rolls for the District established by Ordinance No 926 for the grading of Lane Street from Eighth Street to Fourteenth Street, Also for the District established by ordinance No 938 for the grading of Virginia Street from West Street to Fourth Street and no one appearing to contest the same and no objection being made to said assessment Rolls or either of them, on motion the same are approved.

506 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE June 15 1888 Ordered that the matter of equalizing the assessment Roll for Third Street from Depot Street to Virginia Street postponed until Friday June 29th. Ordered that the Judiciary Committee in conjunction with the City Attorney submit an Ordinance regulating Hacks and rates of fare to be charged. Pursuant to law and published notice the Council now proceeds to the appointment of appraisers for South Eleventh Street, and it appearing that the property owners along the line of said South Eleventh Street have not made or filed any appointment of such appraisers either on behalf of the owners of property benefited or owners of property condemned. On motion H H Lewis is appointed by the Council to act as such appraiser on behalf of the owners of property benefited and Leander Miller is appointed to act as such appraiser on behalf of the owners of property condemned. Whereupon the Mayor appoints Fred E Sander to act as such appraiser on behalf of the City. Ordered that Smith's Supplemental Plat of Block 12 Burkes Second Addition to the city of Seattle be and the same is hereby approved. Ordinances An Ordinance is submitted by the City Clerk entitled "A Special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited Bills" which is passed by the following vote. Miscellaneous Now comes W C Hill by his attorney and asks the council to order the City Treasurer not to sell Lots 7,8,11,&12 Sec 4 T 24 advertised as delinquent, Whereupon on motion the matter is referred to the City Attorney. Ordered the W L Crosley be given until the next regular meeting to file his contract and bond for the grading of South Eleventh Street Ordered that the City Attorney be instructed to settle doubtful street grade assessments which have been delinquent for a number of years upon payment of the original
