135 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATLE grades be hereby laid over until Monday September 18,1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock PM Ordered that the Council stand adjourned until Monday September 18 1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock PM for the special purpose of considerating said Assessment roll under Ordinance No 288 Attest; E S Osborne clerk Approved John Collins mayor Sept18/82 Be it remembered that on this the 18th day of September 1882 the Counmmon Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment The following Officers as present to wit: His Honor the Mayor Councilmen John Collins, O F Cosper, Fred Gasch, Charles Mc Donald and U M Rasin By reason of the absence from the City of His Honor the Mayor, Councilman John Collins is elected to the portion of Acting Mayor to serve during such absence Thereupon the following proceedings are had: And now the Council proceeds the matter of the assessment Roll under Ordinance No 288 for the 2nd 3rd & other Streets grading Thereupon the Judiciary and Legislative Committee submit Ordinance No 309 the same being entitled "To fix the time for equalizing the assess for improvement of certain Streets and to provide for notice thereof" thereupon after due consideration said Ordinance is adopted upon the following Vote to wit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper Gasch McDonald and Rasin Against adoption none. 140 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Sept29/82 Manning & McDonald Ordered that the vote by which Ordinance No_ to amend Section 2 & 3 of ordinance was rejected. be reconsidered thereupon the Council proceeds to reconsider said ordinance pending which its further consideraton is laid over until next meeting. An Ordinance is presented entitled "An Ordinance granting unto John Leary, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns the right to lay water pipes within the City of Seattle. Referred to Committee on Fire & Water Supply The following Resolution is presented: Resolved that a Special Committee of three be appointed by the Mayor to Draft and report to the Council rules of order and bylaws to govern the Common Council in the transaction of its business. Adopted and Rasin Gasch & Manning appointed such Special Comtee. Ordered that the Council Stand now adjourned. The following Officers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and Councilmen O F Cosper, Charles F Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald and U M Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: And now the Council proceeds to examine, consider & hear all complaints touching the amended and Supplemented assessment Roll for the grading & iimprovement under Ordinance No 288, which roll was filed with the City Clerk September 5th 1882. thereupon the Council makes the following changes & corrections in said rolls to wit: The assessment against Geo Kinnear on Lot 8 block 15 of Boren & Denny's plat values at $1600 for land & $50.00 for Improvements is reduced to $1500 on lot & no charge for Improvements. The assessment against L H Terry on Lot 8 in Block 45 of Denny's plat valued at $800 for lands is erased and struck from said rolls. And now all compliants against said roll of any individual assessment therein having been heard

Benedict on Lot 4 Block 24 of Denny's plat valued at $800 for land & $100 for improvements is erased & struck from said roll The assessment against Geo Kinnear on lot 8 block 15 of Boren & Denny's plat valued at $2500 for land & $400 for improvements is changed and reduced to the S 1/2 of said lot and is valued at $1300 for land & the said for $400 for improvements the assessment against D.H. Callahan on lot 5 in block 22 of Denny's plat valued at $1600 for land and $50 for improvements is reduced to $1500 on lot & no change for improvements The assessment against L.H. Terry on lot 8 in block 45 of Denny's plat valued at $800 for lands is erased and struck from said roll. And now all complaints against said roll or any individual assessment therein having been heard
