283 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE June 18/83 Gasch, McDonald, Manning and Rasin. Against adoption none. The Attorney submits an Ordinance entitled "To amend Section 15 of Ordinance No. 383." Laid over. The Attorney submits an Ordinance entitled "To assess and levy taxes for general and special municipal purposes for the year 1883." After due consideration the same is adopted upon the following vote, towit: In favor of adoption Collins, Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald, Manning and Rasin. Against adoption none. 297 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE July 6/83 of said rolls is laid over until Monday July 16, 1883 at 8 o'clock p.m. And now the Surveyor submits the Plans and Specifications for the Improvement of Cherry Street under Ordinance No. 395; thereupon after due examination the same are approved. And now the Surveyor submits the Plans and Specifications for the Improvement of Fourth Street from the south side of Seneca Street to the north side of Mill Street under Ordinance No. 395 as amended by Ordinance No. 408; thereupon after due examination the sae are approved. And now the Surveyer submits the Plans and Specfication for the Improvment of 9th Street under Ordinance No. 395 as amended by Ordinance No. 408; thereupon after due examinaion the same are approved. Miscellaneous Orderd that the contract for the construction of the Engine House on Columbia Street be and the same is awarded to Carkeek Nicholas on their bid therefor. 304 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE July 16/83 to them upon their executing a bond with good and sufficient sureties in the sum of $3000.00 And now the Street Committee make their report awarding the contract for the piling and Wharf building on South 3rd Street under Ordinance No. 399 to G. N. Alexander. Thereupon the Council finding his bid to be the lowest responsible bid and the said Alexander to be the lowest responsible bidder. It is ordered that the contract be awarded to him upon his executing a bond with good and sufficient sureties in the sum of $3000.00. Ordered that a Warrant be issued to James Villie on the City Fund in the sum of $17.90 being the amount of sidewalk tax paid by him for and on a/c of the Improvement of 2d, 3d and intersecting streets under Ordinance No 288.
