From the same Committee granting petition of A A Bell & others from grading and building sidewalks on both sides of Wall Street from Elliott's Bay to Depot Street. and City Surveyor directed to submit plans and specifications from such improvement at the next meeting of the Council. Adopted From the same Committee rejecting petition of E D Briscoe & others for grading Sixth Street from Spring Street to Marion Street as the petition has not been signed by a majority of the property owners, and your committee is that a petition will be presented to the Council for the grading of said Sixth Street from Depot Street to Spring Street. Adopted From the same Committee rejecting petition of A A Bell & others for opening Bell Street from Seventh Street to Depot Street as there does not appear to be any urgent necessity for opening said street at the time. Adopted. From the same Committee to whom was referred theOrdinance asked for by the Seattle Street RailwayCompany, amending the franchise heretofore granted said Company as follows: "We do not think it advisible to grant said Seattle Street Railway Company and other or further priviledges than have already been granted it by the City and therefore recommend that the petition benot granted and that said ordinance be not passed. Ordered that the matter of the change of grade of Fifth Street between Bell Street & Blanchard Street be referrred to the street committee with power to act. _________________________

Ordered that the clerk be and his hereby directed to give ten (10) days notice as required by law that a general election for all city officers will be held on Monday July 9th 1888. The officers to be elected shall be as follows: One mayor; one city attorney; one chief of police; and from the First was one Councilman for the term of two years; from the Second Ward one Councilman for the term of two years; one Councilman from the Third Ward for the term of Two years; from the Fourth Ward one Councilman for the term of Two years. The places appointed for having such election and the officers appointed to conduct the the same are as follows, to wit: First Ward: Polls to be held at Engine House No.2.
