Proprietors. Special. 1851.
Pursuant to the foregoing notice which was published in the Boston Daily Advertiser ^ a newspaper printed in Boston more than seven days in succession before the said time of meeting, the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn met at the time and place designated in said notice. A quorum having assembled the President Dr. Bigelow took the chair. The President stated the object of this special meeting, and called upon the Secretary to produce a certified copy of the Act referred to in the notice. The Secretary did so, and read the same aloud. The following is a copy -
Additional Act. Copy of
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
An Act in addition to "An Act to incorporate the proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn"
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same; as follows -
The corporation known as the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn, may purchase and hold in fee sim- ple or otherwise, any real estate, or any interest in any real estate, situate and lying in the towns of Cambridge and Watertown, in the County of Middlesex anything in the Act of this Legislature passed March thirty first A.D. eighteen hundred and thirty five entitled "An Act to incorporate the proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn" to the contrary notwithstanding; Provided always , that such real estate by the said corporation so purchased holden and possessed as aforesaid, under the provisions of

the petition of the children & joint devisees of the late Rev. Dr. Tuckerman issued a ticket to Mrs Sarah C. Becker on the . His action was approved, and it was also
Lot 222. Representative of.
Voted, that in accordance with the petition of the children and joint devisees of the late Joseph Tuckerman D.D. proprietor of lot no. 222 in the Cemetery, Mrs Sarah C. Becker of Cambridge, who is the nearest resident of the joint proprietors, be designated for the time being to represent said lot and vote at the meetings of this Corporation receiving a ticket of admission in that capacity until the further action of this board.
Lot 406. Perpetual Repair of.
In accordance with the request of Mr Levi Thaxter, the vote passed at the last meeting was amended so as to read thus.
Voted. That upon the application of Levi Thaxter of Watertown, this Corporation will contract to keep his lot no 406. in the Cemetery in perpetual repair upon the present payment to its Treasurer of the sum of four hundred dollars; it being understood that the said Thaxter has expressed the desire to keep said lot in repair duirng his own life, and that the liability of this Corporation therefor commences at the time of his death and that this Corporation is to be authorized by the contract to prohibit interments in said lot other than of the said Thaxter, himself, ^and the inmates of his family and his children and grandchildren and the ^immediate inmates of their several families.

Admission to Cemetery on Sundays - by Trustees
Voted. That any person may be admitted into the Cemetery on Sundays with a special permit from a Trustee.

Maple Avenue changed in line of
Messrs Curtis Tisdale and Parker, were appointed a Committee to view and report on any change required to be made in Maple Avenue.

At the regular monthly meeting of the trustees holden . Present, Messrs Bigelow, Curtis, Little, Read Tisdale Crockett and Parker and Bond, the Treasurer.
B.F. Wyeth elected Gatekeeper.
Various applications for the office of gate keeper at the Cemetery were considered, and subsequently the Trustees on motion of Mr Parker proceeded to ballot for a gate keeper. Six ballots were thrown all of which were for B. F. Wyeth of Cambridge
The Secretary was ordered to notify Mr Wyeth of his election.
Messrs Read Tisdale and Parker were appointed a Committee to confer with Mr Wyeth and fix his duties.
Maple Avenue. change in line of.
The Committee on Maple Avenue reported orally and it was Voted. That Maple Avenue be extended, in a line parallel with the Eastern fence, and distant about nine feet therefrom along

Howes Salary -
Voted,- That the foregoing report be accepted, and that so much of it as relates to Mr Howe be adopted and carried into effect.
Superintendent's house. plans for
Voted,- That so much of it as relates to the building of a house for the superintendent be adopted, and that the same committes report plans and estimates to this Board accordingly.
Price of lots.
Voted That the price of land for lots of greater or lesser dimensions than 300 square feet excepting tomb lots, shall be 50 cents per foot.
Lot. 1917. to be divided & constitute two lots.
The Secretary read a letter from Elias Hook the proprietor of lot no. 1917 containing 600 square feet containing a request that he may be allowed to surrender this deed of said lot and after reconveying it to receive deeds of the same in two lots, one to himself- on to Frederick Clapp of Boston. Voted that the request of Mr Hook be complied with and that the offices of his corporation be authorized to execute such new deeds. Mr Hook paying twenty dollars additional and all incidental expenses.

The President read a letter from J. B. Dana Esqr of Cambridge, addressed to Mr Little as one of the Trustees and offering to sell the estate adjoining Mt. Auburn known as the

At a special meeting of the Trustees holden there were present Messrs Bangs, Bigelow, Curtis, Kuhn, Little, Parker and Read. The record of the last meeting was read & approved.
A letter from J. B. Dana Esqr was read stating the terms of the sale of the Stone Farm to this Corporation, as follows.
