For 6 shares in the Merchants Bank. 600.--
To the Treasurer of the Mass. Horticultural Society ___
for 1/4 net sales 3350.81
" [To] Parker Wilder & Parker for interest on ___
money borrowed of them 19.98

There are invested & in the Treasury as per annexed Trial Balance $29.362.90 being a reduction of only $1490.82 from last year notwithstanding the large outlay of nearly $21.500 for Gateway Fence & draining the Cemetery owing to the liberal donations in aid of these improvements & to the great increase in sales consequent in part thereon, which is a result far better than the most sanguine dared to hope for.

The number of lots sold during the past year is 150.

The Superintendant reports the following interments and improvements, to wit:

the Trustees met, pursuant to the last vote of adjournment, on . Present Messrs Bigelow, Brimmer, C. P. Curtis, B. R. Curtis, Gould, Read and the Treasurer.

Mass. Hort. Soc'y. Report on their claim.

Mr C. P. Curtis presented the following Report. - "The Committee to whom was referred the subject of the "claim of the Massachusestts Horticultural Society to par"ticipate in the money received by the Proprietors of the "Cemetery of Mount Auburn for burial fees in the "Cemetery have had the subject under consideration and "respectfully " Report: - "That in their opinion the said claim is unadmissible"

The annexed Trial Balance shows the amount in the Treasury and invested the sum of $30.771.23 beside a special investment for the fund for repairs of $1470, being an increase after deducting the amts deposited with us by the subscribers to the statue of the late Joseph Story say $3680 of about $600 be side paying between $9000. & $10.000 toward the cost of the ^new Chapel
