Trustees.

Pursuant to a notice to that effect issued by the Secretary the Trustees of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn met at the home of George Bond Esq. on the eighth day of February in the year 1838 at 7 oclock P.M.

Mess^rs Bigelow, Bond, B.R. Curtis, Gould Parker & Reed appeared & signified their acceptance of the office of Trustee.

Trustees.

The Trustees of the Proprietors of the Cem^y. of Mount Auburn met, pursuant to notice from the Secretary at the Porters Lodge in the Cem^y. on Thursday the the 12^th day of April 1838. Present Mess^rs Bigelow, Bond, Brimmer, C. P Curtis, B. R. Curtis, Gould, Read & Story.

Premium

Voted. That Dr. Bigelow be authorized to offer a premium of Fifty Dollars for the best design of a monument.

Trees not to be exposed

Voted. That the Superintendent & the Surveyor of the Cem^y. be instructed not to lay out any Lot in such a situation that the digging of graves & the erecting of a Tomb thereon would be injurious to any valuable tree _

Voted. To adjourn to the Treasurers office at three oclock P.M. on Monday the 16^th instant.

The Trustees met pursuant to the above mentioned adjournment.

Irregular Lots.

Voted. That the Comm^ee on Lots be authorized to sell such irregular peices of ground as cannot be laid out in Lots of 300 feet & as it may not be expendient to reserve for public monuments, at their discretion provided however that the charge per foot shall not be less than 26 2/3 cents & the sum of 20 dollars for the right of selection.

Receiving Tomb.

Voted. That the Treasurer be authorized to make such arrangements in regard to the removal of bodies from the Receiving Tomb as he shall think best.

The Trustees of the Proprietors of the Cemetery met pursuant to notice, at the house of Benjⁿ A. Gould Esqr on the thursday the seventh day of June 1838 at 8 oclock P.M.

Rev. Mr. Stearns

Voted. That the Trustees do not feel at liberty to comply with the request of the Rev^d Mr Stearns of Cambridge Port to give a Lot in the Cem^y. for the purpose by him designated

Prop^rs of small lots.

Voted. That the Pros. of Lots of less than three hundred feet in the Cemetery may have the privilege of admission to the Cemetery on the same terms as other proprietors.

Trees.

Voted. That Mess^rs Gould & Brimmer be a com^ee to enquire & report whether any trees have been improperly removed from the Cemetery by any person.

Pursuant to notice issued by the Secretary the Trustees of the Pros. of the Cem^y. of Mount Auburn met at the house of Mr Bond on Thursday the 31^st day of January 1839 at half past seven oclock P. M. Present Mess^rs Bigelow, Bond, C.P. Curtis, B. R. Curtis, Gould, Parker & Reed. Dr. Bigelow was chosen President Pro tem^e.

The Treasurer laid before the Board his report which is as follows. the Treasurer begs leave to report, with a trial balance of his books, the following synopsis of Receipts & Payments for the seventh year ending 31 December 1838

Proprietors. 1839.

Mount Auburn Cemetery. _ The annual Meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn will be held on Monday the 11^th day of February 1839 at 4 o'clock P. M. at the Room of the Horticultural Society in Boston to make choice of a board of Trustees to act on the report of the Treasurer, and to transact any other business which may legally come before the said meeting.
