1848 Augt 14th Thomas Templeton came after a search warrant this morning to search Mrs Garrotts House for his Tobacco, lost — We got apples for vinegar at stony point in evening a fine Rain indeed
15th Cloudy & foggy this morning. we Beeting apples & getting up for vinegar I am sick & have been for 2 weeks & several have desperate coughs it may be Hooping cough. —
18 Worming & succoring Tobacco & going to meeting all this week. Revival at Strait Stone at this time WmH Plunket Pastor Several showers of Rain in 10 days past, beautiful one last night
20th began to Rain to day about 11 or 12 oclock we were all at a great meeting at strait stone
21 Still Raining & wind Blows from N.E. ground very wet indeed cool wet weather
22 Fair day Toping & worming Tobacco
23 Same work, began to Plow for wheat, cloudy & like for Rain ——————
29. Sent to Doct. Whites mill 1 Large Log for Paling & 5 or 6 Bushels corn — Henry gone worming & succoring branch & lot to day & Granary Lot -
31st & 30. Getting up & beeting apples for Brandy finished over Tobacco 30th Inst. weather fair & warm

15. Finished cutting over by new ground & stilling to day 550 stacks cutt & made 15 Gallons Brandy — weather warm Sent 9 Bushels wheat to Glenns Mill for flour about the 1st Sept 1848—
16th Raining this morning, sent Henry to Doct Whites Mill, Large Log for Railing 1 Babl corn sent - Fed shoemaking Planted Peach Kernels in Garden
October 16, 1848 - November 2, 1848
1848 Oct 16 weather cloudy & like for Rain my wife gone to Mrs Hunts
17. Finished sewing fresh ground Tobacco Land 3½ Bushels sewed one that white from Mr McCullocks - weather cloudy & Rainy began to Hall up stalks from mountain field & sew that, Rainy & ground to[o] to Plowwet
18. Rained a fine Rain commenced Sewing Tobacco Lot this morning, white wheat from Mr McCullocks
29 Firing Tobacco & Digging Sweet & BushelsIrish Potatoes & finished sewing Lot
20 & 21st Firing Tobacco Halling stalks from mountain field & finished sewing that in wheat.
23rd gone to Mr. Jno D Hunts after Bricks to Lay Dining Room floor & get apples waggon & cart - cloudy & like for Rain Give Bro Angel got 525 Bricks 1½ Bus wheat carried it to Bro Yates for him about 10 agodays
24 Halling corn from stony with waggon 9 Loads this in all
30. Shucked out & put up corn from stony point. gathered corn at home 4 Loads & to day shucking that Halling up stalks from stony point Put up Fatting Hogs this day the Ballance say 19 now & 3 some time ago & Dick in yard
Nov. 1st Seeding wheat in Lot, by Mallisas houseat home
2nd Finished there & gone to stony pint
December 18, 1848 - December 31, 1848
1848 Dec 18th Cutting in new ground little growth this week —
19th started to Lynchg with wheat & Turkeys got back 21st & sold Turkeys for 50¢ & wheat for 90¢ got back in 3 days —
22nd Finished striping mountain field barn Tobacco this day —
23rd Killed our Hogs this morning & salted them up etc 20 in number
24 likely for Rain
25 went to Mrs Hunts & it Rained
26 quite cool this morning & somewhat cloudy = —— Tolerably good days
27 began to snow in morning about 5 Snowed & Rained nearly all day snow about one or Two Inches Deep Brot over cattle from stony pint this morning & have not fed them till now
28 Very pretty day Snow melted Smartly tolerable cool
29 Raining this morning, striping Tobacco in Middle Barn snow melting very much, weather moderate
30 cleared off in morning early Striped Tobacco in prize barn Halled 3 Loads wood & 1 load straw in evening
31st Tolerable gooddayquite cool snow not gone yet, my wife gone to Mrs Colemans to day & wheat Looks remarkable well, for time of year —
