Friday August 26, 1921
A clear day. Jim has worked on his tobacco all day trying to get it to yellow.
Ben went to Jim Powers this morning and brought Fletcher Car and family up here. He has 6 children. We have not bin lonesome today. This evening Nellie and Evylin come. I was glad that they come.
Carley[?] Harvey & Virginia Moses was married this morning at Gretna. Reese Smith carried Kate & Virginia Harvey to Gretna. Marvin and some others met at Richard Woodings and cut some tobacco for him. Ben & Henry helped some.
I am going to sleep in the hall to night.
Saturday November 5, 1921
A beautiful day. Ben fixed up the wood saw and with Henrys help sawed some wood.
This evening Ben & family went to Jim Powers. They carried Mrs Car home. I went to Marvin Smiths. Reese Smith carried me to White Falls. Paul & Roy went with us. I fished and caught several fish. We stopped at Renan. There was several men there. Lee Brumfield was there. Kate Hubbard & Virginia Harvey and Little Clack was there. I am always glad to see any of the grand children. Martha Miller (col) tied tobacco for Marvin so that Reese could go with me fishing. I know I am a bother some times but it wont last long.

Wednesday, February 8, 1922
A good day. The men folks did not do any thing but feed & get wood until twelve oclock. Ben & Josie went to Mr Jim Powers to see Mrs. [Carr ?]. They went horse back. Ben rode Tomp & Josie rode Jake. They got home a bout 8 oclock at night. The children was all up playing. Josie got dinner. I churned. I made Edna a pair of gloves this morning. This evening I mended some stockings. We heard from the calves to day. They Solde very well. I milked tonight. Plenty of mud now.

Sunday, January 7, 1923
A cloudy day. Rain tonight. Jim went to John Hutchensons and eat dinner. Henry went to Sunday school and from there to Jim Power(?). Grace Brumfield come today and brought Josie some custard and nice boiled meat. She helped me get dinner. Josie is very bad off tonight. Grace staid all night. Grace is very helpful. Fanny Power(?) come tonight (?). I was glad to see Fanny. There is a lot of sickness a round at this time. A darkey at Ren(?) Worshams died last night.
Ben and I picked some salit from the garden today. I made some soup for dinner today.
Sunday, February 18, 1923
A clear cold day. Ben went to Jim Powers. He walked. Got Home before night. He got a ride part the way home. Henry went to a pond and skated a while. Jim stayed at home most of the day and kept up the fire. Nellie and I got dinner. The little children had to stay in the house and fuss around. I think now I will be so glad when the children can get out of doors.
