A good day most of the day. Had a little rain this evening. Ben and Paul still working tobacco. Josie ironed. I got dinner. I planted some cucumber and pumpkin seed.

Josie and Ben went to Strait Stone this evening and got some things. Among them were 4 tin buckets.

Mr Dave Layne and his son [ink smear] Walter and got a cow [smear] and calf.

Edna and Franklin are sick. If anyone wonders why this page is so blotted, I went to sleep.

A clear day and very warm. Ben finished curing his primings to night.

Paul suckered tobacco. Mr Owen went to the mill did not get his grinding. Josie washed the breakfast dishes and ironed and got dinner and washed the dinner dishes and ironed most of the evening. I got breakfast and called them to eat then I milked three cows and watered hogs at three different places then I gathered some butter beans and helped to shell them. Then fixed the milk ready to churn then cut a bucket of cucumbers then churned fixed to wash some.

After dinner I washed a bout 40 garments then put the cucumbers in brine and salted the butter and fixed it ready for use. Then rested a while then milked eat supper and helped wash dishes and ready to go to bed.

A good day. Ben plowed up the potatoes and Josie picked them up. Ben sowed turnip seed to day. Paul tied some primings. Josie got most of the dinner. I churned went after some tomatoes. After dinner I put up three cans and killed two chickens and cut the cucumbers and put them in brine.

Paul and Thelma went to Dick Woodings to a stew to night. I hope they may have a nice time.

Julia and Henry and Edna are in my room and talk so much that I am in the hall writing.

Chesley Edmons cut a house of tobacco today.

A shower this morning but a clear evening.

Ben & Jim sowed peas this morning. This evening Ben cut wheat for Lee Brumfield. Oskar Brumfield thined corn for Ben. Edna and I thined 26 rows this evening.

Josie made Ben two shirts today. I caned some beets. The first that I ever caned. I choped a little in the garden & replanted some cucumber hills. Put up some onions. We are getting plenty vegatables now.

A good day. Ben & Jim suckered tobacco this morning. This evening Ben went to Gretna to meet John & his children. They are all here to night. Mary Brumfield went to Lee Brumfield this morning. Walked all the way up there. Oscar & Hellen come with her back home. They would not come in and have supper with us. Josie staid at home & got dinner. I went to Johnson Reynolds to spend the day. I eat dinner there. Mollie had a good dinner. Reubin brough me home as soon as I heard that John was comeing. Marvin & Carrie went to meeting this morning. Carrie & the children was here this evening. Alma Bennett is at Lees to night. Jim brought home some cucumbers & tomatoes from the tobacco ground this evening.
