A good morning. Rain this evening. It was badly needed. The boys here got up some hay and cut wheat. Frances and Gordon and Shirly was here. Earl went to the mill after the rain.

I had a letter from Carrie Smith. She said that she might come for me tomorrow. I want it to rain and I want her to come two. I know I cant have both. I do want to go home. Guess I will have to go with Earl Bennett Sunday. Will be glad to do that.

I do hope that nothing will happen to hinder me from going.

A good morning. Rain this evening. Ben & Jim helped Marvin get up some hay then Marvins folks helped thin corn until they finished.

Josie got dinner. I picked a few black berries. I caned a half gallon & had all they would eat for dinner and supper. I sowed some on a quilt this evening. I slept a long nap after dinner. Something I dont often do.

Well we are all glad of the good rain that come this evening.

John has come to night. I am glad.

Monday June 27, 1921

A good day. Ben carried John to Gretna. Julia & Edna and Franklin and Mabel went with them. Ben did not stay long. Then he plowed in his tobacco. Jim plowed some and then mowed hay. Them and Marvin have gone to the school house to hear speakin to night.

Josie planted some pepper this morning then got dinner. This evening she gathered some black berries and went to Marvins.

I got breakfast and milked the cows & fed the chickens and churned. Cut some quilt peices and went to Marvins. Come home. Fed & milked. Brought two buckets of water.

A good day. Jim & Ben got up a little hay. The thrashing machin is at Marvins. I hope they can thrash in the morning. Josie thought she would wash to day but it was late and so hot that she did not. Mrs Kent come by this

evening. She had bin to Long Island. Tom Lays land was sold today.

I finished reading a book tha Alma Bennett lone me. Josie has commenced to read it. She is reading now.

A good morning. The Mr Mayhews thrashed the wheat here this morning. They were here for dinner. Then Ben & Jim got up some oats. Marvin & Woodall hauled some hay for them. It rain a little this evening.

Josie washed a big washing this morning. This evening Mrs Wooding & her baby come a while.

Josie & the children went to Marvins. There is a man there to night thinkin a bout buying Marvins home tomorrow. Marvin thinks so little of it that he is going to sell. Oh I am so sorry. No knows but me.
