A good day. Ben & Jim and Owen cut corn all day. Josie & I peeled some peaches and made preserves. We had snaps for dinner, the last that we will get this year without it rains very soon.

Josie sewed some this evening and gathered some peas. We have finished shelling them tonight. I went and dug some potatoes & washed them.

Mr John Baily and Miss Angle was here this evening. They were going a round a bout the schools. They did not see Ben.

Edna got my book & pen and ink for me tonight.

A beautiful day. The boys replanted tobacco and sowed peas. Lizzie got dinner. She had potatoes and peas for dinner. Alma sowed some. I mended two shirts for the boys. I cut some clover for Lizzies cows. I had rather do something like that than set all the time.

Alma had a note from John this morning. He will not be at home Sunday.

Oh how bad I want to know a bout them at home. Want to see them all at home and of the rest of them.

Nellie said Mabel did fine. She got time to sew a lot. Nellie had a nice supper for us. We heard today that Mrs. John Mayhew died this morning.
