A clody day and it is raining tonight. Jim is in Chatham. Ben sowed some wheat and oats today. Mr. Owen stripped tobacco today.

Josie got dinner. We picked up the potatoes this morning and Ben hauled them home this evening.

Bessie Callens (col) washed some & ironed. Anna Callens come to see a bout Bess being here. She let her stay.

I had thought that I would start to Richmond in the morning but it is raining so that I doubt it now.

Ben & Henry & Lucious Gravely went hunting tonight. Guess they will get wet.

It is lightning & thundering.

A rainy morning. Clear this evening. I come from Richmond to day. There was no one to meet us so a Mr Davis brought us to Cedar Forest and Marvin brought us home. Found them all well. I am glad that I am at home.

Ben & Jim is helping Marvin stripping tobacco. I am talkin so much that I cant write like I ought.

A good day. Jim & Ben killed a beef this morning and stripped tobacco this evening and to night.

Josie got dinner.

This evening I went to George Blairs. They were all busy. Nettie was fixin a box to take to the school house. Some of them were strippin tobacco. Mollie Reynolds come while I was gone. I was so sorry that I was not at home.

Hugh Brumfield & Rees Smith are here tonight. They are all playing Carom [?]

I carried my pen & ink to the dineing room this morning and was two lazy to go after them to night.

A good day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco all day. I got dinner. Bessie the colored girl washed.

This evening Franklin & I went to Marvins. Carrie was washing. She finished while I was there.

We heard to night over the phone that Ludia Barnett was killed by a train today. That is so bad. Her folks will miss her so much.

Josie made Edna a cap and a box. Had good luck with both.

A clear cool day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco. It was so dry they could not do much at it.

I got dinner. Josie made a box for Beatrice Owen.

Ben and Josie went to Renan a few minutes at twelve. Miss Willie Wooding come a while this evening.

Josie has had the tooth ache all the evening.

Ben & Jim went to the barn to night to tie some tobacco & have not come to the house yet.
