Cloudy most of the day. Jim smoked the meat. John went from here this evening. Ben went to Lee Brumfields. Helped strip tobacco. Oscar Brumfield went to Gretna with tobacco. Ben come by Kates. She was not so well. I hope that she may get well yet. John Brumfield went to see Denia Blair. She is very much complaining. Henry and Edna went to school. Terable walking they say. Nellie has done the most that has been done today. She milked two cows this morning while I milked one. I churned and fixed the butter. Have mended a few things today.

A beautiful day. Jim and Ben finished stripping their curing and loaded the wagon ready to start to Gretna in the morning.

I was mending Henrys coat this morning when Jim come to the house and said that Johnson and Mollie was going to [John?] Craddocks and that I could go with them. I got a snack to eat and got Mabel and my self ready. Ben carried us to Reynolds?]. Johnson went with us. We got some honey and got home by dark.

A colde morning. A killing frost. The men stripped tobacco all day. The children went to school. Edna went to Kate Harveys to stay tonight. I hope she may have a good time. Mr Short brought some beef here today. I bought 60 pounds at 12 cts.

Letia washed today for me.

Fletcher Car sent Ben a box of chestnuts. They are very nice. I have not felt so well today. Was up two late last night. Mabel went to sleep today. Ben has gone hunting tonight.
