88 Columbia June 4th 1894 The Town Council met at the Town Hall pursuant to adjournment Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call and the following councilmen present, McKay, Groat and Chase The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. The following bills read and on motion warrants ordered drawn for payment of same. bill from D C Brown $1.40 for serving copy of ordinance on W J Grambs Bill from Columbia Home Co for lumber for culverts on Angeline Street $13.35 Bill form Joseph Hellenthal for 30lbs of nails $1.00 Bill from Z C Miles & Co for supplies $1.05 interest $1.85 total $2.90 Bills from H H A Hastings for legal work from Oct 23rd 1893 to JAn 1st 1894 $40.0 read and on motion laid on the table until next meeting. Motion made and carried that the claim filed against Angeline St be laid on the table until next meeting Motion made to apply the funds on hand as part of payment on Warrant #29 and to do the same from time to time as the funds come in. 89 Columbia July 2nd 1894 The Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call and the following councilmen present, McKay, Groat and Chase The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. The Park committee report progress The Clerk's quarterly report read and motion approved and ordered placed on file. The Attorney's report progress on the road tax question. Motion made and carried to authorize the Attorney to make a formal demand on the County Commissioners for that part of the road tax belonging to the Town of Columbia. Motion made and carried to instruct the Treasurer to amke a quarterly report within the next ten days. A Communication received and read from H H A Hastings giving his opinion in regard to the legality of the claim filed against Angeline Street by J M Bemiss on motion the same was ordered placed on file. The following bills read and on motion warrants ordered drawn for payment of same. bill from L C Woodman for work on Angeline St $4.53 Bill from E L Hepler for lumber furnished and labor in Water works $18.95 Bill from H H A Hastings for legal work $40.00 Motion made and carried to draw warrants to pay the Clerk, Marshal & Attorney their quarterly salary. Motion made and carried to draw warrants for the payment of claims filed against Angeline Street A communication from the Engineer giving the cost of work on Angeline St that should be paid out of the General fund read and on motion ordered placed on file.

91 Columbia Aug 7th 1894 Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call and the following councilman present:- Calder, Chase & Groat. The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. Park Committee has no report The attorney reports progress on the Road tax question. Ordinance #47 transferring $253.36 from the General Fund to the Angeline St fund read and on motionpassed by the council and approved by the Mayor. Ordinance #48 reduced the assessment roll on Angeline St from $1.33 per front foot to $1.16 per front foot read and on motion passed by the council and approved bythe mayor. Motin made and carried that E Voland be appointed as councilman to fill the the expired term of Wm Willacy Motion made and carried to charge 75 cents per month for all parties using water to irrigate with only. The Park committee has no special report Bill from J C Huff for $7.00 work cleaning sidewalk read and on motion approved and a warrant drawn for payment of same. The oath of E Voland as Councilman read and on motion approved and places on file On motion it was decided not to do anything in reference to theproposed sewer until next meeting. The question of putting in sewer on Rainier discussed and on motion it was decided to have the Engineer draw plans and give an estimate of the cost of the sewer and to report here Monday Sept 18th 1894. Columbia Sept 17th 1894 Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call and the following councilmen present McKay, Calder, Chase & Groat The minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion approved. The engineers report on the proposed sewer on Rainier Ave read and on motion accepted and placed in file. The motion to advertise for bids for the proposed sewer has lost. Motion made and carried to lay the sewer question on the table until next meeting.
