33 Columbia May 15th, 1893 The Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding. The following Councilmen present: Hellenthal, Voland, Sullivan, Willacy & Bond. The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. Motion made and carried that the resolution for the grading of Columbus St be read. Motion made and carried to abandon the present water reservoir. Motin made and carried to engage a competant man to draw plans for the improvement of the Water Works. Motion made and carried to reconsider the motion to abandon the work on the present Water reservoir. 34 Columbia May 18th, 1893 A special meeting of the Town Council was held in the Town Hall. Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding. The following Councilmen present: Sullivan, Willacy , Hellenthal , Voland & Bond. The resignation of Joseph Hellenthal as councilman was read and on motion accepted. On motion Joseph Hellenthal was appointed Superintendent of the Water Works. Motion made and carried that the Water Works committee buy 250 ft of 3 in water pipe and one (1) 3 in T and plug, one 3 in elbow and one 3 in union. Motion made and carried to adjourne to meet Monday May 22nd at 8 o'clock pm B R Shaw clerk Approved May 22nd 1893 C P Hutchinson mayor

35 Columbia May 22nd, 1893 The Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding. The following Councilmen present: Sullivan, Bond & Willacy. The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. Mr Hellenthal reported that the reservoir had been tested and found all right and on motion his report was accepted. Water Committee report that they had bought the 250 ft of 3 in pipe for 23 cents per ft, also the neessary fittings for same and had borrowed tools for putting in the same on motion report was accepted. Ordinance #29 referring to the grading of Columbus St read and on motion passed by the Council and approved by the mayor. On motion the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the grading of Columbus Street same to be opened on June 5th at 8 o'clock. Motion made and carried to adjourne to meet Monday May 29th at 8 o'clock pm B R Shaw clerk Approved May 29th 1892 C P Hutchinson mayor

36 Columbia May 29th, 1893 The Town Council met pursuant to adjournment Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding. Roll call and the following Councilmen present: Voland, Sullivan, Willacy & Bond. The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. Water Committee report the new reservoir connected with the pipe, but the service is not satisfactory to the higher portion of the Town. On motion O A Schade was appointed as councilman to fill the place made by the resignation opf Councilman Hellenthal On motion the question of extending the Water system laid on the table until next meeting. Motion made and carried to adjourne to meet Monday June 5th at 8 o'colck pm B R Shaw clerk Approved June 5th 1893 C P Hutchinson mayor

76 Columbia Feb 5th 1894 The town council met at the Town Hall Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call and the following council men present - Calder, McKay, Willacy, Groat & Chase The minutes of the last meeting read and approved. The committee appointed to interview Mr Camp in regard to the running of Cars in the town limits made a verbal report and on motion the same was acceppted and the committee discharged. A petition was read praying for the wages of common laborers to be placed to the old rate of 25 cents per hour. the Matter was discussed and on motion the petition was laid on the table indefinitely. Motion made and carried that common laborers be paid at the rate of 25 cents per hour. Ordinance #41 taken up and on motion the same was laid on the table indefinitely. Ordinance #42 regulating the salary of the Marshall, Clerk, and Attorney read and on motion passed by the council and approved by the Mayor. On motion Mr. Hellenthal was given one week more time to report in. Bill from Z C Miles for water pipes and fittings $96.69 read and on motion ordered paid. Bill from Hepler Lumber Co for pipe fittings $ read and on motion ordered places to their credit on water rent. ordered paid. Bill from William Willacy for cash paid for frieght $2.90, Car fare 10 cents, sharpening picks 90 cents total $4.15 read and on motion ordered paid. A compliant from Nettie Wood asking for $5000 damages sustained by a fall on Columbia St read and referred to the City Attorney.
