A good day. Jim went to Chatham. Ben carried him. He carried several things. I went with him. We got home a little after dark. I did not go in a store. We did not have time. Henry & Franklin went to school. Today is Otho Blairs birth day. I have thought of many things that happened that day and of the people that was liveing them that have passed a way. Preacher Damron [?] staid at our house the night before Otho was born. He is dead. Henry Henry Brumfield & Dr Wooding are both gone and all have to go soon. Mrs Car is here with us yet I am glad for her to be here anytime she will. Josie has bin busy all day and has a head ache tonight. I have not seen Kate in a long time until this evening.

A beautiful day. Ben fixed up the wood saw and with Henrys help sawed some wood.

This evening Ben & family went to Jim Powers. They carried Mrs Car home. I went to Marvin Smiths. Reese Smith carried me to White Falls. Paul & Roy went with us. I fished and caught several fish. We stopped at Renan. There was several men there. Lee Brumfield was there. Kate Hubbard & Virginia Harvey and Little Clack was there. I am always glad to see any of the grand children. Martha Miller (col) tied tobacco for Marvin so that Reese could go with me fishing. I know I am a bother some times but it wont last long.

A bad day. Snowed all day. Not very cold. Mabel is sick. I am so sorrie for her & her mother.

Jim & Ben stripped tobacco. Mr Norman Booker helped them. I killed a chicken & dressed it and got dinner. Helped to holde Mabel some. Josie done what she could. She had to rock Mabel most of the time. Henry & Edna went to school as bad as it was. I have bin mending overalls tonight.

I sympathize with all the poor and hard up people and the sick and that is the most of them.
