Wednesday March 9, 1921

A cloudy day. Rain & thunder this evening. The first thunder cloud of the year. Henry went to school. Edna did not go.

Ben & Jim hauled some feed and corn this morning. Ben bought Kates heifer from Edmons this morning. Jim & Ben plowed this evening until it rained. Carrie come a few minutes.

Josie & Carrie went to the turnip patch to cut salit. It rained and they had to quit. I went to the plant bed this morning. This evening I sowed on the canvas for the plant bed.

A good day. Jim & Ben cut tobacco. They cut Jims tobacco and commenced on Bens. Josie sewed. She made Franklin a pair of pants. I went to Marvins as usual.

Doris & Janie Brumfield & Delma Owen and Christenia Reynols com to Marvins and bathed in the pond that the children has in the branch.

Kates heifer got hurt this evening. I am very sorry it happened.

A rainy morning and that was what we needed. The boys planted some tobacco. Kate & Irvin Harvey come after plants. They were here for dinner. They got a few plants and went home. We had cabbage for dinner. Ben carried my heifer to Reynolds. Ben & Jim brought Bell home from Mr Laynes. Josie made Ben a shirt to day. I ironed some. I thined my beets and parsnips to day. 9:15 oclock The bees swarmed to day.

Monday, August 23, 1920

A cloudy bad day. The boys suckered tobacco most of the day. Nellie caned some tomatoes. Josie helped her some. Josie got dinner. This evening Nellie and Josie picked beans. I helped some. Ben yoked the spotted heifer. She kept getting in the corn. I went to Carries a few minutes this evening. Kate & Virginia was there. I am suffering with my leg tonight.
