Up at 6:30 again; cereal, coffee; then breakfast. Haydn’s symphonies 103,104; quartets 77/ 1, 2. Now I’m ready for Mozart: forty-seven cassettes, including operas and church music.
Weight holding at 157.

Began Mozart with early quartets (5-7, 10-13) and symphonies 23, 25, 26. Wonderful to rehear what he could do in his teens and also see what’s to come. Splendid meal at La Tournelle: mussel soup, liver with mustard sauce for me, onion soup and moue marinara plus strawberry dessert for Gwyn, along with a bottle of her birthday burgundy. One of the best meals we’ve had in Memphis.

Home by 9:45. Hot weather (comparatively speaking); walked 2 ½, wearing shorts and tee shirt for first time this year.
