Mr. N. Dominy Sr:- Dr Sir:- Your letters of the 30th November [?] was received on the 3rd inst.; in which you informed me that you had shipped, to come by Sag Harbor boat on Monday night (the 3rd inst.) "25lbs Rye Flour, 1st quality @ 2c ___.50 75,, Graham Flour ,, @2c___1.50 96,, Pure Gluten Flour @ 3c___2.88 $4.88"

The half barrels have not reached me yet. As soon as they arrive at our house, I will draw a check (& mail it to you with this) for $4.88, On receiving it, please send me a receipted bill, & oblige

P.S. Wednesday Dec^r 5, 1894-4 1/4 p.m. I have not received the flour yet; but about half an hour ago, I received a notice from the

agent of the Steamboat "Shelter Island", stating that there was at her Pier for me 1 barrel which would be stored at my expense & risk until I take it away!

The "Shelter Island"'s Pier is away down town - som 3 or 4 miles from my residence; & I get the notice too late to send down today. And what does the notice mean, I wonder, by saying "1 bbl"? What I or= =dered was, as you know 2 half barrels.- At foot it says "Second notice"; but I never received any other one.-

Altogether, the delay has been such, and the bother & expense are such, as to teach me a lesson never to attempt such a thing again. You may remember that when I last saw you, I expressed my doubt as to whether, on its arrival in this City, the Shelter Island people would send the flour at once up to my house. They should have done so; but, as you see, they have, instead, notified me of its arrival & called on me to send and get it! - I will send tomorrow tho' it is a very inconvenient thing for me to do; & on receiving it, will send you my check for the $4.88.-
