At Meridian the Island bearing North. Found the Long [LONGITUDE] by Chronometer to be 157°=44" West Long [LONGITUDE] of the Isle 158 15 West Latt [LATITUDE] of ship 20°=16" South

Sunday November 16th 1845 Comes in with light breezes from the Southward. Steer by the wind to the S & W. Middle part more fresh. Latter part light. So ends the day. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 20 35 S Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro [CHRONOMETER] 159°=08"

Monday Nov 17th Comes in with small breezes from the Southward. Steer by the wind to the S & W. At 4 PM made the Island of Orarute[?] bearing SW dist [DISTANCE] 40 miles. Middle part fresh. Latter part light airs. At 8 AM Orarute[?] bearing South. Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro [CHRONOMETER] 160°=00" West Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] at Mer. [MERIDIAN] Island ESE 21=09

Tuesday November 18th Commences with light breezes from the S & E. Steer by the wind to the S & W. Middle part more fresh. Thus ends the day etc. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 22°=18" South Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro [CHRONOMETER] 161 11 West
