"Rochester, Oct. 30, 1867.
"MY DEAR MRS. KECKLY:- It is just possible that I may not take New York in my route homeward. In that case please write me directly at Rochester, and let me know fully hiw the subscription business is proceeding. The meeting here last night was a grand success. I speak again this evening, and perhaps at Reading tomorrow evening. My kind regards to all who think of me at 21, including Mrs. Lawrence.
