together very well and put in a pewter Cupp, and sett yt in the
imberes xxiiij howeres, then put it into a glass, and shake yt evry day
for a month, add unto yt one dram of Camphire, and so use yt
morning and Evening.

First take the flowres of dill, mellilote flowres, Colliander seedue,
Anisseede, and Fenell seede, and sithe all this in water untill yt be very
strong, and then put the water in Bladderes, and ty the mowthes
of them Close, and lay yt to the side of the Child, or where
the paine is, as hott as yt may be suffered, and Change yt
fresh and fresh as yo^w so Canse, and This will help:

Take the papp of a Black Rotten Apple, and the yolke of an
Egg, and half a spoonefull of Sallett oyle or oyle of Roses,
and put to yt a spoonefull of Red Rose water, and stirr them &
beate them all together, and when yow: haue done, take as
much Croomes of Manchett as will make yt as thick as
yt will spread uppon a Cloth like salue, then lay yt uppon
the sore where the bruse is, if yt be in the eye let them
winke hard, and lett the plaister be laid on the outside
of the eye.

Take eybright dry yt and beate yt to poulder, and serce
yt fine, then take iij spoonefulles of very Cleane water
and put therto a spoonefull of the powlder and so drinke
yt fasting and fast ij howeres after.

,,A medicine for the swelling of the Coddes

Take a greate Bundle of greene henbane Leaues and
Rost them under the imberes, and when they are Rosted,
pound them and draw them throwgh a hearne stromier,
then mingle wi^th them som oyle of Roses or Lay this
powltis to the pained place, and yt shall asswage the swelling
and alay the paine presently.

stopping of spleene or Liuer impostumate

Take ij. or iij hanfulles of Hemlocke wash them Cleane then
take one ounce of Fenigrick one ounce of anisseeded one ounce
of Fenell seede. 1. ounce of Comine seede. 1. ounce of Coliander
seede, 1. ovnse of parsly seedes. bruse all these together, but the Feny
grick must be brused by yt self, for that is harder then the
Rest, then take all these and put them in to iij quartes of strong
Ale, byle yt till yt be thick like a powltis, then take som of yt
and anoynt the belly, in the morning all on befor the fier as
hott as yo^w Can suffer yt for the space of a howre, and asmuch
att night. Then when yo^w goe to bed lay som of the powltis on a
Cloth and lay yt to the Navle as hot as yo^w Can and Rowle yt fast
to yo^w vse this morning and Evning till yo^w go to the stoole once or twyce
then leaue yt and see in no case that yo^w stopp you^r Loosnes for if you doo yt
is very dangerowse

Allso if yo^w distill the water of dogges futh and geeue yt to drinke
with a little Sugar yt is exellent good.

Take a quarte of whyt wine a quarter of an ounce of Allom
half a quarter of an ounce of Camphire, quarter of an ownce of whyt Copprus
and asmuch brimstone as a big hazle nutt, beat all these very small
and then put yt into the whyt wyne, and shake yt all together
half an howre, then lett yt stand ij dayes before yo^w vse it in the
Evninge sheke yt together in the glass, and dipp yt on our face
a Cloth, and in the morning dip your Cloth in the thinest of yt
Refraine going in the aire for an howre after.

for Runing of the Raines. flux of blud in a wooman.

Take knotgras wi^th the Rootes, planten wi^th the Rootes, Commpherie Roote
pomgranett flowres. mastick a Resenable quantitie, Redrose seedes
or the dryed leaues, boyle all in good muskadine and drinke yt
six morninges.

in the water wi^th the other thinges. after straine yt and Reserv yt
for you^r vse, when yo^w neede therof dropp it in to the eye wi^th a clean
Fether and ly on your back for a tyme.
