& distill a water thereof according to art, 2 or 3 times over:
This water is a most precious thing against all Melancholy sick
-nesses, & in thy^e pain & trembling of thy^e heart: The quantity
to be given at / one time is a dram, whi^ch is thy^e weight of 72
barley Corns.

{1}Mugwort steeped in Rose-water, help trembling or shaking
hands, if they wash therewi^th in thy^e morning before they
wash in any thing else.

{1}To know if a person be perfectly dead; hold a little burning
Candle at thy^e parties nose whose mouth is open: Or else set
some little Cup or glass full of water to thy^e brim upon thy^e said
parties bely or Navell: for by thy^e moving of thy^e flame of thy^e
Candle , or of thy^e vessell wi^th water, ye^w shall be perceive his secret
breathing if any there be. Tis good not to bury too hastily
such as dy of thy^e Apoplexy, falling sicknes, or thy^e Mother.

{1}For thy^e French-pox, a marvellous water, thay^t may be soon pre
-pared more precious than gold. Put fair & clear water into
a vessell wherein there was never before any liquor, or before
never used, & when thy^e water is very hot, pour it to quick Lime,
being before in another new & clean vessell, & let it re
-main so long until thy^e have taken all thy^e foull spume that
floats above from thy^e same, & thay^t all thy^e Lime be setled to thy^e
bottom, & thy^e water very clear, then pour out thy^e water very
softlt without moving thy^e Lime to thy^e bottome, & keep thy^e same
water in a fair clean Glass or Some other clean vessell well
