Gentlemen:

Referring to the matter of paving Adams Street with
bitulithic paving material:

The estate of my deceased Father owns property fronting 100
feet on Adams street on which the estate has paid taxes for nearly
twenty-five years. I believe this fact entitles my interest in
this matter to some consideration.

Bitulithic is well known to be a patented article that has
only been on the market for about five years. It has not in any
city had a chance to stand the test of time. In our own city the
bitulithic paving on Sixth street, between Main and Houston, is
giving way badly at the edges, where the water stands; this is
the only bitulithic over a year old that has come under your
observation in this or any other city.

The Bitulithic Paving Co. has, through the efforts of a very
energetic canvasser, secured the signatures of a number of property
owners on Adams street to his contract. Very few of these know
anything of the properties or value of this paving material, and
not over two know its composition.
