Dear Sir:-

Having secured a position I believe will
prove more lucrative to me, I herewith tender you my resig-
nation as a member of the pol ce department, to take effect
today, which I trust you will accept.

I desire to thank you and the Police Commissioner for
the kindness you have both shown in giving me the position
but under the existing circumstances I feel that I cannot
do myself justice and serve further as a policeman.
