TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CIT OF FORT WORTH:

I hereby make application for appointment as special police
of the City of Fort Worth without pay from the City. I am man-
ager of Charninsky Brother's Dancing Academy and for the last sev-
eral years have been located on Throckmorton Street between Fifth
and Sixth Streets, and give public balls several nighs of each
week. My place is back off the man thoroughfares and not in
close call of the police on that beat, and frequently I am in
need of the services of an officer and should have one there
during the entire evening when dances when dances are given
to prevent questionable characters from attending said balls and
to keep those who attend orderly. The receipts will not per-
mit me to keep a regular officer employed and besides my du-
ties as floor manager requires me to be there all of the time,
consequently it would be indirect line with my other work there
to serve as special police officer. I formerly held a com-
mission under the old form of government and if appointed by
you will pledge myself to faithfully perform my duties as an
officer and furnish sufficient bond to indemnify the City.

Respectfully,

S. Charninsky
