Dear loved ones at home:
I received your most loving letter tonight and was glad to hear from you. I received your nice box of cake Thursday night. All o.k. It surtenly, [sic], tasted good. I'm sorry I did not send you something for a birthday preasent, [sic]. Hope you will forgive me. No place here to get anything that would go for a preasent, [sic]. Will send you some money and you can get something yourself.

Well, we got moved yesterday, but it is not like home. It is so lonesome. I went out last night to look at a lot. It was in a frog pond, and I wouldn't have it as a gift. Everything is going higher, Monday, and most of the residents' lots are about all gone. I don't know what to do about exchangeing, [sic]. Everything is going higher all the time. There is one place on the state heighway, [sic], about two miles twards, [sic], Templeton, of 2 1/2 acres at $715.00 per acres. Cost almost as much

as your five acres. I think I will go out tomorrow and see it. I'm sorry I have no,t written oftner, [sic] but it has been a little enconvent, [sic], for me latley, [sic]. I don't think I will stay here very long, as it is to, [sic], far for me to walk, to and from work. Well, Helen, I'm surtnly, [sic], more than glad to hear you are getting along so well with your studies, and hope you will keep right on and keep ahead of your class.

Well, it is after 9 o'clock. I guess I will get to bed. Did not sleep well last night. I wish I was home. It is oughfull, [sic], lonesome here. I don't mind it so muchin the daytime, but when it comes night, it is oughfull. [sic]. Well, will try and write some in the morning. Must go out and have a balling, [bawling ?], spell. Good night.
7 p.m. Sunday eve. Well, I will try and finish scratching if I can. I went out and saw the 2 1/2 acres on the Bulevard, [sic], and it looks

good, lay nice, but no trees on it. That is, no oak trees, but it is all planted to peaches now. It is about 2 two miles from Civic Center on State Road. Price is $715.00 (seven hundred and fifteen dollars) an acre, and only $750.00 (seven hundred and fifty dollars) for a house. I don't know, but what we had better take it. What do you think about it?
