Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Write soon. Kiss the children for me.

Charlie sends his love.

Dec 12th

Dear Edith:

Thought now the children had gone to bed. Would be my chance to scratch off a few lines, for I don't find any time during the day for my mending, so, must do a great lot at night, as I have no girl now and do all my own work. So you can imagine how busy I am most of the time with three kids, but find it much easier being on one floor. Wish you could see how nicely we have our home arranged. I often

tell Archie how I wished Edith could step in and make us a visit. Archie likes keeping house by ourselves much better than when we all lived together. He says it seems more like home. And I rather think it worried my mother when the children got noisy, & you cant keep them always quiet. Suppose you are busy preparing for Christmas with the little folks. Dear Edith, must not forget to tell you of my sad experience shopping last Monday. Helen & I went down town shopping and was just ready to step on the car when I discovered my bag was open & my purse gone. Someone had taken it while I stood talking for a minute with a friend on Euclid Ave. I can't tell you how badly I felt about it. Seems as though I cannot get over it. There was about twenty dollars in it. That is the first money I ever lost & hope it will be the last and, at present, we are in need of all the money we can get, as we have been to such a great expense in remodling, [sic], our home & the machine, but hope things will come out all right after awhile. So it is very little Christmas gifts we will make this year. Those little pants you returned, I will give them to a boy whom I

think will fit, and will try and get Jack another pair, & don't set them asside so long again, but, put on and let him wear them right away.

I would love to see that dear sweet face. Suppose he has entirely forgotten us by this time. Charlie often talks of Jack & says he is going to write him a letter some day. Dear Edith, wish you could see our baby boy. He his [sic] the best looking of the three, weighs 39 lbs. will be two yrs old in Jan. Will try and have the three children's pictures taken soon as possible & will send you one. We are all invited down to Mother's for Christmas dinner. Will say good night from Sarah H. Hope you can make this out.
