[Se.?] Wilson's Letter to M. J {?} dated {Ichang?} 30/12/03.
"I am afraid my new genus near Lonicera will turn out to be merely Lonicera hispida. Which I learn has been called L. bracteata. Anyhow it's a fine shrub.
{?} Wilson's letter to { ??} dated {Kiating Q.x1 OH??} Perhaps The most valuable seed is No. 1683. a Clematis when may prove to be a new species or only a variety of orientalis. The fls are yellow changing to bronze with black stamens & glaucous leaves. It enjoys a dry dunny position & is extraordinarily floriferous. It should make a fine companion to C. coccinea but it is a hundred times more free-flowering. I consider it distinct from C. orientalis var {tanguitica?}. The species of {Thladinatha?} sent has much larger fruits than those of {rubia?} Amongst other things I have seeds of one or two fine Aconitas. I am leaving here in a couple of days in my last overland trip & shall be away less than 3 weeks. I am going primarily in quest of plants of Dipelta floribunda. It is a long way to try & introduce living plants from but I have faith in my ability to accomplish this feat. Unfortunately the seeds are seldom fertile.
