I should stand to the loss of weight it was bought [????]
weight you must know that it will lose in trimming & cutting. and as
to any mistake with me it is farr otherways as to the Extravagance
of the charge for Lashing &c with the advance you suppose I made on
the whale Bone with many other particulars in your Letter I think
a very great reflection on my judgement not to say Honesty and is
the first Letter of the kind that ever was wrote to my Connections or to
me. in short you must give me leave to say I think myself not well
treated after all the pains and care I had taken every article purchasd
with ready money and large Sums paid before the delivery, great
dispatch given to the Vessells and after all to be thus Censored, is what
I shall always think very hard of, and with great Reason; and
if I cannot carry on Business more to Satisfaction I would recom[men]d:
to your Connections those in whom you can place more Confidence
and whose Business may be more advantageous, But upon the
whole there is no mistake in that account neither ^can I apprehend
any occasion for such your Censures. I am however very Sorry
that you should Entertain no better opinion of me. I flatterd
myself I was better Establishd. It lays pretty heavy on my mind.

I should have been very glad to have Receiv'd our
