Sir
This waits upon you with Respect to ask your
Advice in a particular affair, that whereas severall Gentlemen together
with my self have some expectation of a Ship being sent to us about the
beginning of October & having determined if we could obtain a Freight
for her in the West Indies to our advantage to doil & in order hereto
have desired me to write [/your/] to my Friend at Antigua for Advice
& as M'r Bethune informs me that no Gentleman there would be more
ready to serve me herein, than yourself__ have taken the Liberty to write
you upon it & would begg the Favour of you Vis First opportunity to Inform
me whether it will be likely about that Time to obtain a Freight of old
Sugars For her to London & what Freight would be at as also what barge
would answer best at your Marketts, with the Price of Lumber, Fish vis & in
Case it would not do then, what particular Time would be best for the next
Crop__ I would not have you from what I have wrote, also lately engage
a Freight, as I am not absolutely certain of a Ship, only would ask your Advice
upon Supposition -- your Complyance herewith will very much oblige

This acknowledges the Receipt of you
Favour Vis Cap't. Fores of 26th Aprill & note the Contents, have likewise
received Invoice & Bill of Loading for a parcell of Goods to the Value
₤ 143.6.5. Sterling & Advice of another Parcell Vis Adams, which daily
expect, which will compleat the Invoice you had Ship't Vis Hasttom
and was taken __ am much obliged to you that you so Considered
the Disappointment as to reship them __ the Goods Vis Fores have not
oferred as yet but hope they will turn out well & in good order
should have wrote you & Craige of my Receipt of your Favour
but was on a journey when he sailed__ it has been a Considerable
disappointment to me in having these Goods taken, but as it is
the Common Lot must be contented __ thought of this opportunity
to have remitted you ₤ 100 ~~ Sterling & Bill of Exchange, but am dis=
=appointed, but hope & neat opportunity shall be able to Remitt you as I
dont choose to be in Debt especially in London, observe what you write
to act Accordingly & am with Respect Gentl'n & Very humb. Serv't
