This acknowledges the receipt of your
{favour} 20th {January} wherein you acknowledge the receipt 2 Bills
{Exchange} L115__ & will pass to my Credit when paid __& I now
Inclose you a Bill Exchange L100 --{Sterling} drawn by Henry
Atkins on Mr Thomas Lyde Merchant in Lympston, with a
Letter Advice, which desire you would forward, {per} first Op=
=portunity. & shall forward you the remainder, as Soon as
I can Collect my Money. & light of a Bill __ am obliged to
you for your Offers of further Service & when I can find it for
my Interest to write you further for Goods shall readily em=
=brace it--am with due respect ----

This acknowledges with Respect
the receipt of your Last {favour} {Per} Hunter 18th..March, which have not
had time as yet particularly to examine, but shall do it soon, & if I
find it right. carry the {Ballance} L2751.3.6 to your Credit in New {Account}
--Observe you have received Arthur Perry Two Bills L100___each
{23rd} October & 12th November which are accepted & will be carried to my Credit,
hope the other Bill of Perry's & Henry Atkins, remitted you last {February} will
meet with the like acceptance, & am sorry to hear the Navy Bill remains
so long unpaid, as I want exceedingly to discharge my Ballance with
you, & am calling in my Money as fast as I can for this purpose, being
sensible that paying Interest is not profitable either to you or myself.__
Have now inclosed you Edmund Affeck Bill Lading for 2 Baggs
{marked} C.H containing 1200 {Mill} Dollars on Board his Majestys
Ship Launceston, {consigned} to you on my own {account} which when you
receive please to Credit my {Account} with, & notify me what they Neat, {Next} ---
expect in a few Days to make you a further Remittance by Governments
Bills & in the Interim am with due respect----
