Epifagus virginiana is an obligate parasitic plant of the broomrape family Orobanchaceae, which grows and subsists on the roots of the American beech tree (Fagus grandifolia). It is the only species in the genus Epifagus. Aka beech drops, beech-drops, beechdrops.
