To Cure an Ague. 15 Mar 1737/8
Take of powdered chamomile flowers two drams, of powdered
[Myrh?] 25 grains, of powdered rock allumn 18 grains. Make them
up with some syrrup, into an electuary to be divided into
doses, one of which to be taken every three hours, with four
spoons full of the following mixture.
Salt of wormwood two drams, juice of lemons three
oucnes. Milk water a simple cinnamon water of each four
ounces. So much syrrup as to make it agreable.

For Cure of a Bite b y a Mad Dog
Take of the powder of ground [?] coloured liver wort,
half a dram: powder of black pepper, ten grains. Mix
them together, and take it four morning succesively,
in a draft of warm milk. --- Doctor Meed's Receit.
