Steward's Petition
March 19 1778
for compensation
The Subscribers, being a committee appointed by the {Reverend} Corporation, having examined the
Steward's accounts of disbursements for commons
from Nov. 14, 1777 to March 12, 1778 inclusively,
beg leave to represent to the Reverend Corporation,
that they find,
That the Steward had stores remaining
on hand Nov. 14, 1777______ £99.15.0
That in the time above specified he pur-
chased provisions to the amount of~~~ 609.8.11
That he has received from the College wood-
lot fourteen loads of wood @ 60/_____ 42:0.0
That there must be charged for the wear of
table linen_____________________ 4.10.0
That no charge be allowed for the Laun-
dress this quarter because a full allowance
was made the last quarter, and the stu-
dents were dismissed as many days
before the last quarter-day, as they
have been convened before the present. _______
That from this above sum there must be deducted 757.3.11
as follows for provisions charged as [shillings?] 26.16.1 3/4
Stores unexpended_________309.________335.16.1 3/4
That the neat expence for provisions is — 428.7.9 1/4
