Dear Mamma Tomorrow I shall go over to Boston, & there stay with my Uncle as you wrote me; with this I shall send my dirty clothes that I want washed which I wish you to send back as soon as is convenient, tho' I am in no want of them now; if you can make it convenient I wish you wou'd send me one other pair of handsome overhalls as I think I shall need them if I tarry at my Uncles, and also 1 or 2 neck-handker -chiefs (with something to put inside of them) & whatever else you think I shall need. Money is indispensably necessary, for I owe at present Mr. Hunnewell 21 1/4 {Dollars} for board & rent, the steward for my last quarter bill 18 {Dollars}, ,93 {Cents} Mr. Alden butler 1 {Dollars} 15 {Cents}; from this sketch you will perceive how much will be necessary. A new hat too!
Please to give my duty to my father & accept it from Yours
