permit me. The pattern of mine I will send some time without their knowledge & if I can I will ask permission but theirs are very differant & I know they would dislike it - in your letter do not if you please mention any thing of it again - I mean as an apology for asking it - they saw the letter but said nothing. Do write me often I should admire very long letters tho' it is not in my power to make an equal return. You desird me to be candid with regard to my situation. I like it extremely. We live very temperately, use a good deal of exercise which creates an excellent appetite. We have four meals breakfast at six, dinner, twelve, vesper four, & supper at seven. We are not kept as strict as I suppos'd. I have many letters to write & must bid you adieu.

yours Sincerely Mary M. Flagg

I will always send my letters to Mr Greene Twill be unnecessary to direct this to his care as my Father will deliver it

Dear Aunt!

Be assured you have my thanks for the letters you favour me with, for the last particularly the last as I have thankd you for the others before. I am glad to find that your opinion of my improvement in writing is good. I expect in your next an observation of my hurry in this, as time will not permit me to write well. The examination is at last come, which makes us exert every talent we possess in study, and tho it does not take the whole of our time, I cannot compose my mind enough to write letters after it.

I expect to be called soon to the exami nation of music. All our other branches of education have been examin'd already.

May 7th I have received your letter by Uncle EBowen & thought I should have time to write you a long letter but Uncle E goes sooner than I expected which obliges me to be laconic. Apologise for me to my dear Miss Richmond tell her it is out of my power to write now. I must bid you adieu & prepare for school. yours sincerely M M F
