Currant Pie
1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of milk, 1 egg, 1 tablespoonful
flour, a little salt, 1 cup of currants,
Lay the currants on the crust, then pour the custard over it.

Veal Brawn.
3 lbs of veal, chopped fine; 1 cup of pounded
cracker; 2 eggs well beaten ; 1 lemon--juice and
grated peel ; quarter of a pound of butter; 1 nut-
meg; 2 teaspoonfuls of pepper, 3 tablespoonfuls
of salt; sweet marjoram. Bake in a deep pan
an hour, and put by. Cut in slices for the table.

Lobster Soup.
1 pint of milk, a little flour to thicken it; salt,
pepper, and 1 quart of water; boil together.
Chop a lobster fine, and when the soup is
taken from the fire stir in the lobster and a
piece of butter.

Oyster Patty.
1 quart of oysters, 6 pilot crackers, 1/2 teaspoon-
ful of pepper, 1 tablespoonful of salt, 1 teaspoon-
ful of clove, 1/2 a nutmeg; place these in a deep
dish, first a layer of oysters, then spice, then pound-
ed cracker, till the dish is nearly full; then pour
over all a little hot water, and put dabs of
butter on top. Bake.
