This Indenture, made the Twenty
nineth day of May in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and Twenty between William Duane
Thomas D Grover Silas Yerkes William Stevenson
John Vallance, Lawrence Shuster Samuel Emlen Jr
Joes B Sutherland & Henry Barrington
Managers of the Almshouse and House of Employment of the City of Philadelphia, the
District of Southwark and Township of the Northern Liberties, of the one part, and
Aaron Kelle of the City of Philadelphia
of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Managers, according to the form of the act of
Assembly for the relief of the Poor, have put Abigal Edwards 16 years & 10 days old
an Apprentice, to dwell with and serve the said Aaron Kelle
his Executors, or Administrators, from the day of the date hereof, for and
during the full term of One Year Eleven months & twnety days
next ensuing, in all lawful and reasonable service.

And the said Aaron Kelle his Executors, or Administra-
tors, during the said term, shall find and provide for the said Apprentice, sufficient meat,
drink, apparel, washing and lodging; and shall teach or cause her to be taught the art
and mystery of Housewifery and during
said term, shall give her Two quarters half-day schooling, one
half of which after he attains the age of fourteen years, and when free, two complete suits
of clothes, one of which to be new.

This Indenture not to be assigned without the consent of the Managers for the time being.

In Witness whereof the said parties to these present have interchangeably set their
hands and seals the day and year above written.

You are required at the ex-
piration of this child's time, to
come forward and satisfy the
Board of Managers, that the
terms of the Indentures have
been complied with.
