Dear Mrs Hollared

I mean to reply to you about voting for school committee through the Woman's Journal. Ever so many other women are asking how women in country towns are t[o] get registered & we will answer all at once-but I am sure of this. that a woman who pays a property tax need not pay a poll tax also. I am quite sure that a [? ] tax paying woman whose name was on the register last year can not have her vote thrown out--oh the other points we have to hunt up the law.

There have been changes in the law, and there is a great deal of naughtiness among

Dear Mrs. Hollared

In reply to you. let me say, the 16th. will suit us. Mrs. Austin was in the A.M. and we conferred about it.

I told her I thought you would not need both Mrs. B. and me. Not if one would do. it was well to save the other till another time. but if you think it best; we will both come--But if one will do, I will come on the 16th.

Yours truly

Lucy Stone

[H 587] OFFICE OF Massachusetts Woman Suffrage Association, 3 PARK STREET,

Boston, January 10, 1891

Dear Friend

As you will see by the enclosed announcement: the approaching annual meeting of our State Association is to be made the occasion for celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Worcester Woman's Rights Convention of 1850. We expect a number of well-known + prominent advocates of our cause from other States, whose expenses must be paid, and shall hold our evening sessions in the Tremont Temple, consequently our expenses will necessarily be heavier than usual, and it is of the utmost importance,

1st, that our friends who are non members should send in their membership fees promptly or, if they expect to attend the meetings, and it will be more convenient, pay there.
