the right to rake you over the coals because of what you left out.
I have just learned from reliable sources that Ralph + Bert are ex-
pecting a new bundle from heaven. I should have been informed long ago.

This is a wonderful event for them, but frankly I think too
many families under one roof is not desirable at any time. Especially
a busy woman like you who is responsible for the welfare of hundreds.
You need lots of spare time where you are free to think and plan for others.
The housing shortage is very bad right now, but it will clear up. I am
no doubt somewhat prejudiced as I think they mean extra work for you.
Of course, we will need some extra help at Hill Top, but remember the
rule: "no work-no eats" + no loafing."

I got weighed last night and am right at 219 - Come to
think of it, why shouldn't I make a fairly good Santa Clause?
If I placed a pillow under my coat you would really have something!

Thank you for writing about Florists Exchange. I hope
they will send it along without furhter nonsense. This happens when
there is a shortage of help and boggle heads of every description
are holding down jobs.

Miss Rice has written from Framingham - She found every-
body well at home and you looking very pretty in a blue + white sweater.

Your "extra" letter just came and it was very good. I did
not inform Miss Rice about the expected new baby as I didn't know.

Pups that growl at children even when teased are not for us. I
am pleased that everyone was so glad to see Miss Rice.

Yes, I received a card from Jessie Binford. She has been sick. She
has not visited me since the parole board turned me down years ago.

Give my love to your mother and Mrs. Thompson. I hope they
continue well. Mary thanks for you beautiful letter, and for just being
the swell person that you are. Love and best wishes to you and
may this be our most successful year - Yours,
Russell McWilliams 5661-E
