Dear Dr. Miriam:

It was good to hear
from you and your gracious letter
has made the rounds amongst the
members of the S.D.G. And I received the
commemorative stamp of Dante. I am
really ashamed to say that I have read
little of him, and that, only in sketches.
Jim gave me a general run-down, and
how I envy (just a little!) Jim's ability to
consume everything he reads and the
vast amount of reading he has accomplished.

Now I must add one word
of dissapointment. Althought World
Publishers asked Dr. Clark for the foreward.
I have not as yet received word of
acceptance. It would certainly seem
that such was the case. Otherwise why
the request for the foreward? I would
assume that they are really giving it
some thought and the foreward would
be most important to them. Anyway, I
took the liberty to send Dr. Clark your
Regards to Mr. + Mrs. Thomas from us all.
