[red stamp REFORMATORY FOR WOMEN
AUG 25 1944
FRAMINGHAM]

Dear Doctor Van Waters:

On such a perfectly grand day I just had to write
to you, as such weather made me think of Framingham and of
course of you. I have been meaning to write to you for two
weeks now, but that very hot weather really got me.One rea-
son I did not write was because I have ben meaning to get in
touch with you and see if it would be possible for me to see
you.

The point has now been reached where it is necessary
for me to see you and I wonder if it would be possible for me to
do this Saturday of this week, late in the afternoon. Could you
have Miss Kelley call me and tell me what time and whether or
not this day is alright please?

I have had a very delightful summer this year spend-
ing every Sunday but one since June on the Provincetown Boat. It
seemed such a restful trip the first time, that we decided to go
every Sunday we possibly could, as we could thinkof nothing any
better for us to do. Consequently, I have acquired a slight tan
something I always found it very hard to do. During the week I
have time for nothing else, but work and early to bed at night.
That nine hours on the water each Sunday almost seemed like a
week-end trip and certainly was more beneficial than some.

Every one at home is pretty well and my Brother is
waiting or by now has already gone across. Of course, Mother
is worried about him, but does a marvelous job of keeping it
to herself as usual.

I hope you have found it possible to take a vacation
this year and that you have been enjoying your delightful retreat
Hill Top as much as possible.

Respectfully yours,
Mary Rose Cronin
