Dear Dr. Van Waters,

I rec. your letter & thank
you ever so much for the
check. Which I rec okay.
I started work yesterday Sat.
in the Sahara Hotel here. It's
one of the largest Hotels in
Phoenix. Well know all over
the world. We worked 6 days
a week 8 hours day. In your
feet 8 hours steady. The work
is very hard but nice too &
I like it. Each woman is a
maid to 18 rooms a day. You
clean them [clear?] them. Then an
inspector excamines them. So as
soon as I'm on my feet again
I'll send you $10.00 week to
pay you back the $50 I
loaned from you. The pay
is only $40.00 week but in
the 18 rms. you clean a day
