Re: Lucille Devine File

Dear Dr. Van Waters:

I hasten to inform you that
Lucille Devine has turned up in New York, the
other day while I was out of town. It appears
that the bus was three hours late, and also that
she sent a telegram from Providence about this,
but it certainly did not arrive here.

Meantime, we got hold of her at the
Hotel where she stayed and have paid her bill there,
We have also taken care of various other small bills
and brought her bags to the office and let her have
a small amount of cash.

My worker, Mrs.Atwood, took her
over to Bellevue, where she is in Ward 5, and we
are keeping in touch with her, and awaiting a report
from Dr. Myers. I will write you again shortly
but wanted you to know Lucille at least turned up
and we are trying to take care of her and shall
be glad to do whatever is necessary to rehabilitate
her.

Praying God to bless you, believe me

Sincerely your,s

Agnes M. McKernan
LT. COLONEL
